We are excited to announce the upcoming elections for two vital positions on the Hiero Technical Steering Committee (TSC): the End User Seat and the Contributor Seat. These roles are instrumental in guiding the technical direction and ensuring the diverse representation of our community within the Hiero project. This special election will be held on May 7th until May 31st, 2025, to fill these two TSC seats. The nomination period is open from March 17th until April 30th, 2025. Please ensure your submissions are completed before this date.
Who Should Run for These Seats?
- End User Seat: This position is designated for individuals or representatives from organizations that primarily utilize Hiero's software to build their products and services. If you or your organization are active consumers of Hiero's technology, your insights and experiences are invaluable to the TSC.
- Contributor Seat: This seat is intended for active contributors within the Hiero ecosystem, including developers, maintainers, and other participants who have demonstrated a commitment to the project's growth and success. If you have been actively involved in contributing code, documentation, or other resources to Hiero, we encourage you to consider this role.
Strengthening End User Representation
End-user organizations play a critical role in shaping the future of Hiero by providing real-world insights into how the technology is applied in practice. To be eligible to nominate yourself for the End User Seat, your organization must be listed in the official Hiero Adopters file. If your organization is not yet listed, we strongly encourage you to add it. Doing so ensures that end users have a voice in governance decisions and can actively participate in electing representatives who will advocate for their needs within the TSC.
Why Should You Nominate Yourself?
Serving on the TSC provides a unique opportunity to influence the future of Hiero, collaborate with other passionate community members, and ensure that the project continues to meet the needs of its users and contributors. Your participation can lead to meaningful advancements and help maintain the project's alignment with community values.
Building on a Legacy of Open Governance
Open governance and democratic elections have long been fundamental to open source communities hosted by Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust. The Hiero TSC elections play a crucial role in shaping the project's governance, ensuring that both end users and community contributors are represented. By fostering diverse participation, these elections help create a more inclusive decision-making process, giving contributors and users a direct voice in the project's future.
How to Nominate Yourself
To nominate yourself for either the End User or Contributor Seat, please follow the guidelines outlined in our elections documentation. This document provides detailed information on the nomination process, eligibility criteria, and election timeline.

We also encourage community members to attend the weekly Hiero TSC and the Hiero bi-weekly Community meetings, which are open to all. These meetings provide a great opportunity to engage with the community, participate in discussions, and stay informed about the project's direction.
