Besu

Besu

Type: Distributed ledger software

Besu is an open source Ethereum execution client written in Java and licensed under Apache 2.0. It runs on Ethereum Mainnet and public testnets using proof-of-stake consensus. It also supports private (permissioned) networks using proof-of-authority consensus (QBFT or IBFT 2.0) for enterprise and consortium environments. Besu includes a modular plugin framework that lets organizations adapt the client to specialized requirements without maintaining a custom fork.
