Happy Friday. Welcome to the Weekend Update. Our goal with this weekly post is to share quick updates about online education, networking and collaboration opportunities and resources for the open source enterprise blockchain community.
If you have suggestions for resources or events that we should spotlight in a future Weekend Update, let us know here.
Stop COVID-19 Hackathon
ConsenSys Health has launched the Stop COVID-19 Hackathon with the aim of leveraging blockchain and other emerging technologies to improve data access and veracity for researchers, healthcare experts, and life sciences professionals attempting to better understand and stop COVID-19 and prevent future pandemics. ConsenSys Health is seeking to accelerate the launch of operational technology as part of the fight against COVID-19, and has issued a call for hundreds of healthcare and life sciences leaders worldwide to serve as mentors, lending their industry expertise to Web3.0 technologists as they come together to develop solutions.
As part of the Hackathon, ConsenSys Academy is offering two full weeks of training for free to novice Web 3.0 developers who want to get up to speed quickly to contribute to the hackathon. Kaleido, an industry leading enterprise blockchain platform, will be available for “Technical Tuesday” and “Walkthrough Wednesday” virtual sessions throughout the Hackathon, and ConsenSys product Infura will also have open hours with engineering every Thursday.
Virtual Meetups
Due to restrictions on gathering in person, Hyperledger meetup organizers have quickly pivoted to run virtual events. We’ve already hosted a number of virtual meetups, such as an event in Sydney that was open to everyone in APAC and an event in Pakistan that was conducted in Urdu.
Next week’s events include:

Online Certification Study Circle
The Hyperledger meetup community of Sweden has organized an online certification study circle program where participants will discuss and mutually agree upon study goals for each week.
The study circle supports a self-study approach with the help of online course materials available at Hyperledger and MOOCs. Every week, the group will share learning experiences, clear doubts, educate each other and target various Hyperledger certifications.
The group will meet on Saturdays from 16:00 -17:00 CET for four months (as of now).
