Type: Distributed ledger software

Hyperledger Fabric (in short Fabric) and Hyperledger Fabric-x (in short Fabric-X) are a modular, enterprise-grade distributed ledger platforms designed to serve as the foundation for developing high-trust solutions.

Their architecture enables an agile, and modular governance model and interchangeable components, such as consensus, membership services, enabling a flexible, "plug-and-play" environment.

To better support the evolving landscape of decentralized systems, the project now offers two distinct implementations:

• Hyperledger Fabric: The industry standard framework for enterprise blockchain. It provides a stable, highly modular governance and architecture, sovereign smart contracts, identity and access management  for permissioned networks,  that powers thousands of production deployments across supply chain, trade finance, and healthcare.

• Hyperledger Fabric-x: A purpose built implementation optimized for regulated digital assets. Fabric-X introduces a flexible programming model, and "ultra-scalability" through the ARMA Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus protocol and a redesigned parallel transaction processing pipeline. Exceeding 100,000 transactions per second (TPS), it is specifically engineered for retail and wholesale scale digital currencies, stable coins, tokenized bonds and securities, any large scale settlement networks where performance and operational resilience are paramount.

Whether your use case requires the proven maturity of classic Fabric or the high throughput performance of Fabric-x, the Hyperledger Fabric family provides the sovereignty, accountability, and scalability required for the modern digital economy.
